Four-star junior athlete Lance Jackson is staying in the state of Texas for college.

The 6-foot-5, 240-pound jumbo athlete committed to Texas Sunday over Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas A&M and 23 other offers.

The younger brother of Arkansas defensive lineman Landon Jackson was one of more than 20 four-star prospects in the 2025 cycle that attended Texas Junior Day Saturday. The Razorbacks were considered the favorite in the recruitment headed into the 2023 season due to the family connection.

Jackson’s junior video was extremely impressive to college coaches. The No. 8 ranked athlete in the cycle picked up offers from Oregon, Penn State and Florida during and after the 2023 season. His offers list includes SEC programs Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, Texas A&M, Alabama and Oklahoma.

The Longhorns recruited the No. 104 ranked prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking to play the “buck” position.

Jackson becomes the fifth pledge for Steve Sarkisian and staff in the class. He’s the four members of the class ranked in side the top 300 in the On3 Industry Ranking.

The three-sport athlete at 4A Pleasant Grove High in Northeast Texas was named the 7-4A DII Defensive Lineman of the year in 2023. He was a two-time first-team all-district pick prior to his junior season.
