Four-star tight end Emaree Winston of Calhoun (GA) High announced his commitment to Texas Monday afternoon.

The 6-foot-2, 238 pounder chose the Longhorns over Ohio State and UCF.

“I just felt like the usage of JT Saunders is really a skilled tight end and they use him in the right way and me and him have the same skill set. The way they move him around is what I do at my school. I just want to do it at a higher level.”

His relationship with the coaching staff and their plan for him played a role in his decision as well.

“I say I’m closest with coach Banks and Choice,” Winston said. “My relationship with them is really just real. When we talk nothing else they tell me I can come in and play but I have to work to get on the field. They plan on using me like JT everywhere off the ball on the ball slot everywhere.”

The Peach State tight end joins coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns’ 2025 class. He is accompanied by four-star quarterback KJ Lacey.
