Arch Manning Season-Opener Live Updates:

10:00 p.m. CT: Newman gets the ball back on an interception and runs three times, milking the clock to under a minute. That’s it. Final score is 35-14. Newman wins.

9:55 p.m. CT: Manning misses on a quick out-breaker on third-and-five, leading to a Newman punt. Clock ticking under five minutes with Newman still up 35-14.

9:41 p.m. CT: Arch Manning actually lined up at free safety on third-and-18. Hahnville doesn’t convert, tries to punt but Tulane WR commit Dakota Williams corrals the snap and takes off, getting tackled short and coming up limping. Several Hahnville injuries tonight.

After a penalty, Manning hits Randle on a play-action dump for eight yards. Manning fires a low pass to the outside for a four-yard gain. After a timeout, Manning rolls out to his right and hits a corner route from 25-30 yards out for his third TD pass of the night. Newman starting to pull away, up 35-14 with 9:22 remaining.

9:19 p.m. CT: Hahnville punts. After a few runs and an injury, Manning picks up a first down on a designed run. On the next play, Newman calls a flea-flicker and Manning hits a wide open receiver for an easy touchdown. Pitch and catch on that one. Newman goes up 28-14.

9:07 p.m. CT: After a punt from Hahnville, Newman had several runs out of the gate before Manning throws a nice pass on a corner route for a 34-yard gain. Newman scores on a double pass, but it’s called back. Manning is then wrapped up on a scramble for no gain. Manning tries for a deep ball, but it was a bit long and there was good coverage. Newman punts, up 21-14 with 4:12 left in the 3rd quarter.

8:47 p.m. CT: Newman comes out of halftime with several consecutive runs. Manning then hits Randle, dropping a very well-thrown pass over the tight end’s shoulder against good coverage. Newman proceeds to punche in a short touchdown. Manning then hits Randle on a wide open roll-out pass from play action for the two-point conversion. Either could’ve walked in the end zone on that one. Newman is up 21-14.

8:35 p.m. CT: Summing up the first half: Just two drives for Arch Manning that didn’t start within Hahnville’s 10- yard line. We saw some of his movement and improvisational skills early on, but Newman had trouble getting things going later in the half. Manning seems content to take off if he doesn’t like what he’s seeing, but he hasn’t gotten loose outside of the first 17-yard run.

8:19 p.m. CT: A nine-yard punt by Newman gives Hahnville a short field. Tulane commit Dakota Williams comes down with a catch in double coverage to the seven-yard line. Hahnville fumbles. Manning and Newman took over from their 16 with under a minute left in the first half and ran the ball on two plays, going into halftime down 14-13.

8:11 p.m. CT: Manning’s next drive doesn’t get off the ground. A block-in-the-back penalty puts Newman behind the chains. Manning can’t find any receivers downfield on third-and-20 and tries to run but he is taken down behind the line.

8:03 p.m. CT: Hahnville finally connects on a pass, hitting a slant that goes for a 79-yard touchdown. Hahnville takes the lead 14-13 with Newman’s blocked PAT being the difference.

8:00 p.m. CT: Arch Manning’s first traditional drive of the season. Hits an out-breaking pass for an 8-yard gain. Throws a little low to Makai Donaldson, who can’t come down with it. Manning scrambles for a short gain on third down, that’s short of the sticks leading to a Newman punt.

7:54 p.m. CT: Will Randle grabs the runner with one hand for a tackle-for-loss. He’s obviously been extremely active on defense so far.

Hahnville gets a big gainer on a draw and hits Tulane WR commit Dakota Williams on its first pass completion before running in a short touchdown to make it 13-7 with 6:04 left in the first half.

7:37 p.m. CT: Will Randle continues his wild start to the game, forcing and recovering a fumble to give Newman another short field.

After misfiring on his first pass attempt, Manning finds the running back leaking down the sideline for his first touchdown pass of the season. The PAT is blocked. Newman is up 13-0 with two minutes left in the first quarter.

7:28 p.m. CT: Arch Manning and the offense take over at the five-yard line. After a short run on the first play, Manning spins out of the pocket and finds a wide receiver for a touchdown, but it’s called back for illegal touching. Manning rushes for 17 yards on third-and-25. Newman brings on the field goal unit and the kick goes off the upright. No good.

7:15 p.m. CT: Hahnville received to start the game and called five straight runs, including one for a long gain. Their quarterback tore his ACL last week, so a heavy dose of direct-snap runs are expected.

The first pass attempt was intercepted by Texas tight end commit Will Randle and returned for a long touchdown. Randle was lined up at defensive end and jumped in the passing lane to come down with the pick. Good speed on display to run it in from around 70 yards out.

7:05 p.m. CT: There’s a good-sized home crowd for Hahnville, with an active student section that may or may not be holding a “Horns Down” poster.

6:57 p.m. CT: Arch Manning’s Newman team features fellow Texas commit, tight end Will Randle. Offensive tackle Brett Bordelon is an On3 2025 Top 100 Watchlist member. Meanwhile, Hahnville features Tulane wide receiver commit Dakota Williams.

6:55 p.m. CT: Louisiana Tech head coach Sonny Cumbie and co-offensive coordinator Jake Brown are here to take in the action.

6:50 p.m. CT: We’re a little less than 15 minutes from kickoff. It’s my first time seeing Manning throw or play live in about 16 months. He’s probably added a little more size, but still looks physically developed, particularly in his lower body.
