Isaiah Hookfin is counting his blessings on Thursday. The Texas offensive lineman took to Twitter to reveal he survived a horrific motorcycle accident.

“Shoutout LS2 Helmets USA. Had a major motorcycle accident fractured 8 ribs broke, my collar bone, forearm, and lacerated my spleen but my head came back in one piece with the helmet barely looking damaged,” tweeted Hookfin. “That helmet is probably the only reason I’m alive.”

Among the horrific photographs, Hookfin’s helmet was notably undamaged from the wreck compared to his motorcycle. The former four-star recruit is right to thank the helmet company that helped him avoid a worse fate.

A former four-star recruit, Hookfin didn’t play much this season. Still, the next time he takes the field will complete an amazing comeback story.

More on Isaiah Hookfin

While Hookfin and Texas didn’t have the season they wanted in 2021, the future was still bright for the offensive lineman. The aforementioned motorcycle accident will throw a wrench in his future development, but that’s the least of the worries at the moment.

The Texas offensive lineman suffered a litany of injuries as a result of his accident. As Hookfin mentioned, he fractured 8 ribs broke, broke his collar bone and forearm, and also lacerated his spleen. The road to recovery won’t be easy, but thankfully his helmet protected his head — and his life.

Due to his physical tools and abilities, Hookfin has future NFL potential. Before that, he could be paramount to opening up lanes for Texas running back Bijan Robinson to run through. However, there’s plenty on the table until Hookfin is ready for that challenge.

Isaiah Hookfin will have the support of Longhorns faithful as he enters the recovery process. As he embarks on a new journey, his football career may be put on hold — but that’s a small price to pay after seeing the pictures of his horrific accident.
