New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman three-star tight end and Texas commit Will Randle is receiving surgery on Oct. 6 to repair a torn ACL, On3 National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman reported Friday night. Randle suffered the injury following a reception in Newman’s 54-52 win over Benton (La.) last week.

During Newman’s 25-17 loss to Many (La.) on Friday, Randle did not play. Prior to the game, he was seen holding crutches and wearing a brace on his left leg.

Spiegelman also reported that Randle met with a doctor on Friday night and will begin rehabbing the injury in a few weeks. The three-star made multiple plays throughout his senior season, including a 77-yard pick six against Boutte (La.) Hahnville. Over his first three seasons at Newman, Randle recorded 42 receptions for 370 yards and five touchdowns.

Randle is the No. 751 overall prospect and No. 42 overall prospect in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 34 player in Louisiana.

The 6-foot-3, 225 pound prospect committed to the Longhorns on June 19. His teammate, Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Arch Manning, chose Texas four days later.

Randle is one of two tight ends in the Longhorns’ 2023 recruiting class alongside Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei three-star Spencer Shannon. Texas’ class currently ranks No. 4 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Rankings and No. 1 in the Big 12.

Randle has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6.1K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
