Texas On3 5-star RB commit Cedric Baxter Jr. records massive rushing performance

Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater four-star running back Cedric Baxter Jr. is one of the top tailbacks in the 2023 cycle. The Texas commit showcased why on Friday night against in a 28-19 win over Apopka (Fla.)

Baxter Jr. posted on his Twitter account that he recorded 20 carries for 201 yards and three touchdowns. He also passed 1,000 yards rushing this season with his performance.

The 6-foot-1, 215 pound prospect is the No. 39 overall prospect and No. 4 running back in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 9 player in Florida.

On3 rates Baxter Jr. higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2023 On300, he is a five-star, the No. 22 overall prospect and the No. 1 running back. On3 also rates him as the No. 5 player in Florida.

Baxter Jr. is one of two running back commits in Texas’ 2023 recruiting class alongside DeSoto (Texas) four-star Tre Wisner. He announced his pledge to the Longhorns on Aug. 10.

Baxter Jr. has an On3 NIL Valuation of $210K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
