Texas is trending in the recruitment of DeSoto (Texas) 2025 three-star interior offensive lineman Byron Washington, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Texas recruiting insider Justin Wells logged an expert prediction in favor of the Longhorns with a 75% confidence level. On3 national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman logged one of his own in December with a 60% confidence level. Texas currently has a 99.8% chance of landing Washington, per the RPM.

The 6-foot-8, 400-pound Washington went viral on social media when an image made rounds emphasizing Washington’s size during a pass-block rep.

On January 20, Washington plans to visit Austin for the Longhorns’ Junior Day camp. He told Inside Texas that he continues to hear from Texas coaches, as well as Longhorns players — both past and present — that have come out of DeSoto.

Washington spoke to On3 about his relationship with Texas offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Kyle Flood in December.

“He is always calling me and checking in on me and checking in on my family,” Washington said of Flood. “Our relationship really started last summer, and ever since then, we’ve been building. Some other schools — they haven’t exactly kept it real. Everyone knows that I’m gonna have to lean up at the next level, and he has been able to not stress me out about it. He lets me know that this is what we can do and this is how.”

Miami, Florida State, Oregon and TCU are among the other programs involved in Washington’s recruitment.

Washington is the nation’s No. 637 overall prospect and No. 65 interior offensive lineman in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 100 prospect from Texas.
