A premier offensive tackle will be making his way to the Rose Bowl next month.

Denton (Texas) Ryan five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood has locked in an official visit to UCLA for the weekend of May 10-12, per his social media.

UCLA joins as the fifth official visit that Haywood has scheduled — alongside TCU (May 3), Alabama (May 31), Texas A&M June 6) and Oklahoma (June 14).

Haywood is the nation’s No. 12 overall prospect, No. 2 offensive tackle and No. 4 recruit from Texas in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Last month, On3’s Chad Simmons said that Oklahoma was ‘in the best position’ to land Haywood based on his latest intel.

“Texas A&M is pushing for Ty Haywood and working to keep him in-state, but Oklahoma continues to be in the best position,” Simmons wrote following the Under Armour Next camp in Dallas. “He has visited Norman more than any other college town, he and Bill Bedenbaugh have a strong relationship and the Sooners are trending. He has official visits with TCU (May 3), Alabama (May 31) and Texas A&M (June 6), but those schools have ground to make up. The Sooners have created some separation, according to sources.”

Sooners are in constant contact with Haywood

Haywood visited Norman multiple times in the past year and will be back on campus again this summer for an official visit most likely. And nobody is pushing harder for him than OU’s staff.

“They’re one of the hardest recruiters out there right now … they’re definitely recruiting me the hardest,” Haywood previously told On3 of Oklahoma. “Coach Bedenbaugh’s a great guy and I like the way the coaches treat you like people. Coach Venables is a down to earth man, he’s pretty good to be around, he has great energy and always happy.”

… They’re always checking on me no matter what, seeing how I am and how I’m doing, and they stay on top of the game as far as building a relationship with the players — and not just the player, but the person.”

Texas will be in the mix until the end

Even with momentum going in OU’s favor, Haywood’s recruitment doesn’t look to be ending any time soon. Texas head coach Sarkisian swung through Ryan to visit with the 6-foot-5, 290-pounder in January. And he’s aiming to get back to Austin in the spring.

“They’re recruiting me hard and I hate that I missed their junior day,” he said. “They’re very been doing a good job recruiting me, they’re one of the top teams in my recruitment. I need to get there to the Forty Acres. I’ve heard great things about Texas, they have some of the best facilities out there, and I’m looking forward to seeing that.”

“They’re staying on the top of the game as far as recruiting me, calling every other day, recruiting me as a person and not just a player,” Haywood added.
