UCLA guard Amari Bailey will not play Thursday against USC because of a foot injury, Bruins coach Mick Cronin revealed Wednesday. It will mark the third straight game that Bailey has missed due to the injury.

A true freshman, Bailey was one of the highest ranked prospects in the nation, coming in at No. 12 overall according to On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average. He has made an immediate impact for the Bruins this season, starting in 13 games while averaging 9.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Prior to his injury, Amari Bailey had several big performances in the early part of the season. One of his best yet came in a win against Stanford, when he scored a season-high 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting in addition to six rebounds and assists.

UCLA managed to win a pair of road games against Washington and Washington State last week without Bailey to increase its winning streak to 10. The Bruins have been one of the country’s hottest teams of late, currently sitting at 13-2 and No. 10 in the AP poll.

They will hope for similar results when they tip off against the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. PT on Thursday at home.
