Modesto (Calif.) Central Catholic four-star offensive tackle Manassee Itete has decommitted from USC. He announced the news on Twitter.

The 6-foot-4.5, 290-pound is the No. 354 overall prospect and No. 24 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 31 player in California.

On3 rates Itete significantly higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Itete is the No. 206 overall prospect in the country, the No. 19 offensive tackle and No. 16 player in California.

“I want to thank and express my gratitude to the whole USC Football staff and coaches for everything done for me family and I,” Itete tweeted. “I’m very grateful for coach Lincoln Riley, coach Henson, coach Zach wand while staff for believing and prvoding me with an opportunity to play football at the next leve. After much consideration with my family, I have decided to DECommit from USC.

…I sincerely appreciate your understanding and want you to know that this was a difficult choice or decision to make. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience and disappointment. That being said, I’ll announce my commitment tomorrow Saturday.”

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), a new favorite has quickly emerged as the favorite to land Itete. That favorite is now Florida State who sits with a 63.6% chance to land his pledge.

Itete currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $52K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
