When will Bronny James, son of Lakers superstar LeBron James, suit up and play basketball for the USC Trojans? Well, head coach Andy Enfield still doesn’t have an answer, but he did offer an update on the situation at his most recent press conference.

Following a 106-78 victory over Eastern Washington, Coach Enfield sat down to address reporters and field questions. One media member wanted an update on Bronny James since he hasn’t appeared in a game yet after collapsing and suffering cardiac arrest during a preseason practice. Enfield said that such a decision is left up to the James family and he’ll have to speak with them.

However, he did confirm that USC expects Bronny to eventually get back on the court. You can read that answer right here:

“Yeah, I haven’t been able to sit down and talk about all the details yet. But I think, when the time is right, they’ll come out with a nice statement and we’re anticipating Bronny being back on the court soon.”

Again, though, Andy Enfield made clear that the decision to come back and play comes from Bronny’s end and it’s up to him and the medical staff to decide the right time to return to the court.

“And what what soon means, I don’t know. It’s not my decision, and so I really can’t say anything because I don’t know anything.”

Bronny goes through warmups

Bronny did not return during the actual matchup with Brown a couple of weeks back. However, those inside the Galen Center did witness a welcome sight in regards to their freshman guard ahead of that game.

Before tip-off vs. the Bears, James took the court to participate in warm ups with his teammates. Again, he did not play that night, but all in all, it looks like a step in the right direction for the former four-star recruit. Watch some of his pre-game action right here:

Bronny James is a former four-star and Top-25 prospect out of Sierra Canyon, which is just up the road from USC. The oldest son of NBA superstar LeBron James has 13.5 million followers and growing on social media and NIL deals with PSD Underwear, Nike and others. Klutch Sports Group – the sports agency founded by sports agent Rich Paul – also signed James to an NIL representation contract.

When he does step on the court in a live game, expect the basketball world to have their eyes glued on the famous teenage hooper.
