USC freshman wide receiver Joseph Manjack is emerging as a recruiting steal in his first fall camp. Trojans offensive coordinator Graham Harrell has liked what he’s seen from the former three-star prospect from Texas.

“I just think he’s been very consistent,” Manjack said. “Obviously he’s a talented player and he’s made a lot of plays but probably the most important thing he’s done is show up every day, be consistent and do his job. That’s as important as anything.”

Harrell continued

“He’s a great kid, he works hard, he’s learned quickly to be a freshman,” Harrell said. “He’s picked it up well. That’s another huge part of playing this game is being smart and knowing what to do and if you do that it just makes you a lot more versatile. So we’ve been able to move him around and he’s got a lot of reps and he continues to execute and make plays so if you can count on someone and depend on them and they know what to do it makes it a lot easier to throw him in there.”

With Bru McCoy’s status for the season still unclear following his arrest, there’s a number of names that could emerge in the rotation behind Drake London. Manjack very well could see playing time as a true freshman.

Joseph Manjack is part of a very talented freshman wide receiver group at USC. Michael Jackson III, has emerged as another potential contributor this season and the class is rounded out by former four-star Kyron Ware-Hudson from Mater Dei.

USC also added Jake Smith, K.D Nixon and Tahj Washington to the receiver room this offseason via the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-3 Manjack is one of the tallest receivers on USC’s roster, only behind the aforementioned London, who stands 6-foot-5. Bru McCoy and walk on Chase Locke are also listed at 6-foot-3.

Coming out of Tomball Memorial (TX.), Joseph Manjack had a very productive high school career. It was a topic of conversation for Harrell on Tuesday.

“Every game he’s going off for like 250 yards and four touchdowns,” Harrell said, talking about Manjack’s high school career. “A good football player is a good football player. So like I said, I don’t think it’s hard to see if you watch the tape he’s a really talented football player. He understands it, he makes plays, he’s good with the ball in his hands. They played him at quarterback, they played him at receiver, they put him all over the field. Everywhere he was, he made big plays.”

Harrell said Manjack was a good evaluation for the USC staff, but added that his film spoke for itself

“I think we evaluated him well,” Harrell said. “But i think if you watch his tape I think most people would say that’s a really good football player”

As a senior at Tomball Memorial, Joseph Manjack played everywhere. He had 37 receptions for 885 yards, rushed for 869 yards on 60 carries, threw for an 349 yards and returned 5 kickoffs for 160 yards. All in all, he had 29 combined touchdowns.

As a junior, playing opposite future Vanderbilt wide receiver Logan Kyle, Manjack shined with 1,246 receiving yards and 232 rushing yards, finishing with 22 total touchdowns.

Manjack was rated a three-star prospect and held 17 offers. He was previously committed to Washington State and SMU before landing an offer from USC in late October and committing to the Trojans in December.
