Former Colorado wide receiver Brenden Rice has his new home — and it’s familiar territory.

Rice, the son of Jerry Rice, is transferring to USC, he announced Tuesday. The Chandler, Arizona native entered the transfer portal earlier this month.

Rice was a four-star recruit out of high school and the No. 10 recruit from the state of Arizona in the Class of 2020, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

In two years with the Buffaloes, Rice had 27 catches for 419 yards and five touchdowns. This past year, he hauled in 21 receptions for 299 yards and three touchdowns for Colorado, which went 4-8 this season.

It’s another high-profile wide receiver addition for Lincoln Riley and Co. in Los Angeles. USC recently landed Oklahoma transfer Mario Williams, meaning the Trojans are hitting the portal to bolster the wide receiver room.

Oklahoma transfer Mario Williams announces transfer to USC

Former Oklahoma Sooners star wide receiver Mario Williams just made a huge announcement, revealing his transfer destination. Williams will be playing college football next season for the USC Trojans.

Williams’ decision to transfer to USC comes after the Trojans hired head coach Lincoln Riley away from Oklahoma. Now, the two will reunite and Williams will look to build upon a successful first season of college football.

As a true freshman this season at Oklahoma, Williams caught 35 passes for 380 yards and four touchdowns. He had his best game of the season in a win over Texas Tech in late December, hauling in five receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown.

With Williams now committed to USC, the attention now turns to his former teammate, quarterback Caleb Williams, who is also in the transfer portal.

USC also announced the addition of Williams on Saturday afternoon.

Williams was a very highly touted prospect coming out of high school. He was rated as a four-star recruit, the 35th overall prospect, and the third wide receiver in the 2021 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Williams’ commitment only fuels speculation and rumors about Oklahoma transfer Caleb Williams, who’s still in the transfer portal.
