A day after decommitting from Oklahoma, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star all-purpose back Raleek Brown announced his commitment to local USC.

Brown was to the point on when asked why he switched his pledge to USC.

“Because I feel like USC is going to be a good program with the new coaching staff,” Brown said.

The electric 5-foot-7, 170-pound playmaker hinted at this soon after former Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley was announced as the Trojans’ new head man. Minutes after the news dropped that Riley was heading to USC, Brown tweeted “Staying home?” with the eyeballs emoji, suggesting Oklahoma might struggle to hold onto his pledge.

The On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average, currently ranks Brown as the nation’s No. 57 overall prospect.

Raleek Brown Scouting Summary

On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote the following:

Diminutive offensive weapon capable of making plays out of the backfield or in the slot. Has high-end start-stop ability to go with verified long speed once in the open field. Tough for tacklers to bring down in space due to his lateral agility. Undersized as a true running back at 5-foot-7, 170 pounds but runs with toughness. A natural hands catcher who would not be out of place at receiver. Presents a dangerous threat in the quick game and as a potential gadget player at the next level. Has been on the recruiting radar dating back to his freshman season. Transferred from Fresno Edison to SoCal powerhouse Mater Dei prior to his junior season.
