There is no easy way to put it, Silas Demary, Jr. is a winner. The No. 52 player in the 2023 On3 150 is now 64-3 over his last three seasons of high school play; 64 wins and 3 losses.

The 6-foot-5 point guard committed to Southern California on October 7 over a final group that also included VCU and NC State.

Demary is the starting point guard for the 15-0, No. 12 ranked Lincolnton (NC) Combine Academy program. The four-star is averaging 13.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 2.1 steals per game.

I caught up with Demary after his most recent win, a 54-52 win over a West Columbia (SC) Gray Collegiate team who has won four of the last five state championships.

What can Trojan Nation expect from Silas Demary, Jr.?

Demary: “A leader. A guy ready to come in and work. I’m coming in as a winner, so I am looking to come in and continue producing for Coach (Andy) Enfield and the program. I’m a guy that is going to love the fans but will also work hard on and off the court.”

What was their recruiting pitch to you throughout the process?

Demary: “The coaches talked about to me about wanting to get back to pushing the place and playing up-tempo. What they were talking about is a lot like how we play at Combine. They talked to me about being able to earn minutes right away because they are losing a senior guard.”

What do you expect your role to be as a freshman?

Demary: “Looking to put in that two-guard system. They talked a lot about me being able to play both on the ball and off the ball with the NBA. I’m expecting to come and just be a hard-nosed guy and compete.”

What was your favorite part of the campus?

Demary: “I’m a big football guy, so seeing Reggie Bush and all the football stuff, that blew me and my dad away. All their facilities, everything they have for athletes, all the resources, that really blew me away out there.”

What message do you have for USC fans?

Demary: “I can’t wait to get out there and continue winning.”
