The USC offense has added a veteran wideout to its wide receiver room. Former Washington star Terrell Bynum announced on Twitter on Monday night that he is headed back home to California and transferring to USC.

A Pac-12 honorable mention honoree this past season, he finished the year with 26 catches for 436 yards and four touchdowns in just eight games due to injury.

The former three-star prospect out of St. John Bosco leaves Seattle with nearly 1,000 receiving yards and six touchdowns across 34 appearances. He now joins a USC offense that has a new head coach in Lincoln Riley and a young, talented quarterback in Jaxson Dart.

A top-100 player in the class of 2017, he initially received offers from both Oklahoma and USC coming out of high school but opted to head north to Washington.

Lincoln Riley explains how he plans to turn around USC football

Lincoln Riley, like many, has a great appreciation for what USC has accomplished on the football field. His top priority upon taking the Trojans job is to restore that winning tradition, he said in an ESPN appearance Saturday.

“I think those of us who have followed college football for a long time have a great appreciation for what USC can be, has been and I fully believe will be again,” Riley said. “When this program is rolling, when it’s operating at a high level, I really believe there’s nothing like it in the country. But it’s our job to not just rely on the past, not just rely on the logo, we have to go make it happen right now and that’s why we came.”

USC hired Riley as its next head coach at the conclusion of the 2021 season. He had previously been the coach of the Oklahoma Sooners, where he amassed a 55-10 record over five seasons.

Riley is the Trojans’ fourth coach in the past decade, as they have struggled to maintain national relevance. After claiming seven Pac-10 Championships in the 2010s, USC has just one league title since the conference expanded in 2011. It has never made the College Football Playoff.

Riley won four Big 12 championships with the Sooners, making the Playoff three times during his stay in Norman. However, he failed to win a single game in those appearances.
