Trent Perry, one of the country’s top point guards, is staying home and has committed to USC

The 6-foot-4, 175-pound four-star recruit out of Los Angeles Harvard Westlake chose the Trojans over a final group of Colorado, TCU, Oregon, Gonzaga, and Stanford.

“Representing my hometown, while playing for a hometown school has been a dream of mine,” Perry said to On3. “Coach Enfield and the rest of the staff really believe in me and I’ll be able to be myself on and off the court.”

In his own words, what type of player is USC getting in Perry?

“I’m an all-around, do-it-all player. I can shoot, pass, defend, rebound, etc. I just do what it takes to give my team the best chance at winning.”

He has a message for Trojans fans.

“Let’s fight on Trojan family! We’re gonna make some noise in the Big10! Can’t wait to be with y’all!”

Perry is ranked as the No. 54 overall player in the 2024 class, according to On3’s Industry Rankings. On3’s evaluators are much higher on Perry, ranking him 36th nationally.

Perry Scouting Report

“Trent Perry has a smooth feel for the game. He plays with a mental toughness, with good positional size, and a well-rounded skill set. He is a smooth shooter with range off the bounce and off the catch. He has a repeatable load with a consistent release at each level. He is also a capable ball handler. He can get a team into sets and handle the pressure of point-of-attack defense. He is an average athlete that lacks top-end burst, which could pose some questions. High IQ player, and he understands footwork and angles on both ends of the floor. A very steady performer, no matter the situation.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
