Coming into Isaiah Gibson‘s first visit to USC this weekend, eyes were largely on Georgia as the top team in his recruitment. As he finishes up his time in Los Angeles though, momentum is shifting toward the Trojans.

Late Saturday night, USC recruiting insider Scott Schrader logged an expert pick in USC’s favor for the Warner Robins (Ga.) star. And on Sunday, DawgsHQ.com’s Jeremy Johnson followed suit.

With those two picks, the Trojans are now trending to land Gibson in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

“The guys who visited USC today not only got spend time watching practice, they toured campus, sat in on position group meetings and met players on the team,” Schrader wrote about the Trojans’ weekend. “Guys also had an opportunity to meet Aaron Donald, who was a practice observer and guest of USC DL coach Eric Henderson. The combination of energy the USC defensive staff brought, along with Annie Hanson and crew’s skills, the collective effort resulted in a couple of surprise outcomes from a recruiting perspective. WeAreSC is expecting a couple of massive commitments for the Trojans.

… While we thought the verbal pledges could be announced on Saturday night, it’s now Sunday morning and nothing has happened. We now expect a few announcements later today. Likely in the morning. We submitted a USC prediction for Gibson Saturday evening.”

Gibson would add another huge piece to USC’s class early on

While the state of Georgia hasn’t been fertile recruiting ground for the Trojans historically, they’re having a wave of success in the Peach State. Five-star Carrollton (Ga.) quarterback Julian Lewis committed to the Trojans late last summer over the Bulldogs and Alabama. And late Saturday night, five-star Manchester (Ga.) defensive lineman and Georgia commit Justus Terry flipped from the Bulldogs to USC after being committed for more than a year.

Landing Gibson would give USC commitments from three of the top four recruits in the state of Georgia, coming in one of the most loaded cycles in that state in some time. The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder has seen his recruiting stock skyrocket over the past six months, jumping from a top-200 player nationally to one of the nation’s top edge rushers.

He ranks No. 24 overall in the 2025 On300 and also checks in as the nation’s No. 2 EDGE and No. 4 prospect in Georgia.

As a junior, he helped lead Warner Robins to the quarterfinals of Georgia’s AAAAA playoffs and led Demons in sacks (17) and QB pressures (55).
