USC Trojans forward Isaiah Mobley is taking his talents to the next level. On Saturday afternoon, the junior made the announcement that he would declare for the 2022 NBA draft, with this statement directed at his Trojans family.

“First and foremost, thank you God for allowing me to be in this position. Mom, dad and Evan, thank you for your unconditional love and support. Thank you to my extended family and friends. All of you mean the world to me. Lastly, to my teammates and coaches, I truly appreciate every moment we’ve shared – the highs, the lows and everything in between have helped me become the player and person I am today. After careful thought and consideration, I’ve decided to hire an agent and declare for the 2022 NBA draft,” wrote Mobley.

Isaiah Mobley is the older brother of Evan Mobley, who was a lottery pick in last year’s draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. The older brother will now follow in his younger brother’s footsteps turning pro after his third year at USC. Mobley finishes his career with the Trojans averaging 10.1 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. And last season, the six-foot-10 forward had his best year at USC, recording 14.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.

Mobley assumed the mantle of team leader and performed very well this year. The prior season his brother Evan received the attention of every defense while Isaiah averaged 9.9 points, 5 boards and 2.7 assists. With opponents’ focusing on him this season, Mobley made big strides. He averaged team-leading 14.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. He did not shoot the ball as well after he returned from the broken nose and concussion. But Mobley still made 44.5% of his shots, 35.2% from three, and 68.2% from the line over the entire season…
