USC is set to face off against in-town rival the UCLA Bruins tonight, but news just broke that they will have to do it without one of their star players. Jon Rothstein reports that Isaiah Mobley will miss the game with concussion-like symptoms, according to a school spokesman.

The battle for LA, in Saturday’s matchup on the hardwood, will be significantly affected by Mobley’s absence. The six-foot-ten forward and brother of NBA rookie Evan Mobley leads the Trojans in scoring at 14.7 points per game and rebounds at 8.5 per game. His exceptional play this season had USC as one of the two unbeaten teams in men’s college basketball back in January, along with then No. 1, the Baylor Bears. The Trojans were already going to have their hand full against UCLA, who is ranked No.12 in the nation. But without Mobley, they are in for possibly their toughest test of the season.

Kentucky basketball gets special video to announce starting 5

The Kentucky men’s basketball team announced their starting five against Florida in special fashion with a video from their biggest fans. Kids from the Kentucky Children’s Hospital introduced the Kentucky starting five with an incredible and unique hype video, with a different kid introducing each player.

As junior Jacob Toppin was ruled out for Saturday’s game, Kentucky’s starting lineup against the Florida Gators featured Keion Brooks Jr., Kellan Grady, Oscar Tshiebwe, TyTy Washington Jr. and Sahvir Wheeler. The starting five received the special assist from the Kentucky Children’s Hospital, in a video that the team shared on their social media. Fans will have a tough time deciding if it was more wholesome or more exciting, as the kids brought the energy to each of their introductions.

Toppin was injured in the first half of Kentucky’s win over South Carolina on Tuesday. Near the end of the half, Toppin rolled his ankle while playing in the post and had to leave to the team’s locker room. Although the injury hasn’t appeared serious, it has been enough to cause him to miss most of that game as well as all of Florida.

Kentucky has played their way to the No. 5 ranking in the nation behind a 20-4 record, with notable wins against Kansas and Tennessee. The Wildcats have not lost a game on their home court this season, and led Florida by five at halftime.
