Vanderbilt defensive end transfer Nate Clifton commits to USC

Vanderbilt defensive end Nate Clifton has committed to USC, he announced on Sunday.

The talented graduate and team captain started all 12 games for the Commodores in 2023 and racked up 30 tackles, 7.5 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, an interception and a pass defended. So he’ll be a valuable addition for Lincoln Riley and the Trojans.

He’s been a productive player for the Commodores across multiple seasons, too.

In five seasons, Clifton has recorded 93 tackles, 122.5 tackles for a loss, 7.5 sacks, an interception and three passes defended.

Prior to arriving at Vanderbilt, Clifton was a three-star prospect and the No. 1,594 overall player in the nation in the 2019 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He was also ranked as the No. 146 EDGE defender and the No. 48 overall player in the state of Tennessee, hailing from Brentwood (TN) Brentwood.
