It was truly March Madness in the ACC Tournament Wednesday night.

Virginia Tech and Clemson went to overtime and traded blows before Darius Maddox hit the game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer to send the Hokies past the Tigers 76-75. What an ending to a back-and-forth game.

As they say, this is March.

Maddox finished with eight points off the bench, including probably the biggest shot of his life. Keve Aluma led Virginia Tech with a game-high 19 points while Storm Murphy added 15 points for the Hokies. For Clemson, four players scored in double figures, led by 16 points from PJ Hall.

With the victory, Virginia Tech advances to the quarterfinal round of the ACC Tournament. The Hokies have a date with No. 2 seed Notre Dame Thursday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

Virginia Tech’s Keve Aluma named AP second team All-ACC

One day after the ACC announced its postseason awards, the AP announced its all-league honors as voted by 15 writers from across the league. Wake Forest continued to rack up the hardware.

The AP lined up exactly with the ACC’s voting with its individual honors. Wake Forest star Alondes Williams is the AP ACC Player of the Year and Demon Deacons coach Steve Forbes was once again tabbed as the AP’s ACC Coach of the Year. Duke standout and potential No. 1 overall draft pick Paolo Banchero picked up Newcomer of the Year honors.

Here’s a full breakdown of the AP’s all-conference voting.
