Danville (Calif.) Monte Vista three-star running back Julian McMahan has committed to Washington, he announced on Tuesday morning.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder chose the Huskies while also holding offers from California, Arizona, Oregon State and Washington State.

McMahan is the No. 576 overall prospect and No. 50 RB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 43 player in California.

He becomes the third pledge for new head coach Jedd Fisch and the Huskies, joining Temecula (Calif.) Mater Dei three-star quarterback Dash Beierly and San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) J Serra Catholic three-star offensive lineman Jake Flores.

Huskies aiming for improved class with new coaching staff

Recruiting for Washington last cycle turned out to be topsy-turvy, as Kalen DeBoer eventually left Seattle to become the new head coach at Alabama. The Huskies acted quick and brought in Jedd Fisch from Arizona, but many of the top recruits in Washington’s class opted not to sign in the end.

Fisch ended up with 16 signees, compiling just the No. 48 class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The class featured four blue-chippers, headlined by Los Angeles Birmingham four-star safey Peyton Waters and Upland (Calif.) Etiwanda four-star quarterback Dermaricus Davis. Both were theno. 15 player at their respective positions.

“Washington has been a favorite for a while,” Waters told On3 upon his commitment. “Utah was up there too, but as I dwindled it down, it came down to two. I had to make a decision, and it was Washington. I had a lot of great schools to choose from. Turning down Stanford was tough, too. But Washington was it.”

Other top signees in the class include Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian four-star wide receiver Justice Williams, Hesperia (Calif.) Oak Hills four-star offensive lineman Paki Finau and Cibolo (Texas) Samuel Clemens three-star safety Paul Mencke Jr.

Seattle Garfield three-star athlete Rahshawn Clark was one of the late additions for Fisch, as he committed on Feb. 7, staying home after previously being pledged to Fisch at Arizona.

“He really wants what’s best for me off the field,” Clark said of CBs coach John Richardson. “He really wants to make me the best man I can be. With that comes him being a great coach. With that vibe already, he can coach me differently. I’m a coachable player, but it just comes different. Coach Richardson did stuff during my recruiting process that no other coaches did. He was upfront from the start. He never sugarcoated anything.”
