Washington running back Tybo Rogers has withdrawn from the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Rogers had previously shared his intention to enter his name into the portal in a post on his social media accounts on Jan. 19.

He just finished his freshman season with the Huskies this fall.

During the year, Rogers rushed 44 times for 184 yards. That was good for the second-most carries and the third-most yards on the ground for the team but he was one of the only backs on the roster who didn’t find the endzone in 2023.

Most of Rogers’ production came during their 41-7 victory at Michigan State this season. He led the team in rushing against the Spartans as he posted 15 carries for 74 yards.

Tybo Rogers’ return, though, should give new coach Jedd Fisch a capable backup for Arizona transfer Jonah Coleman, who was a prized get out of the portal for the Huskies this offseason.

Coleman appeared in 25 games over the past two seasons for Fisch at Arizona. He made an immediate impact as a true freshman in 2022 to finish third on the team with 372 yards and four touchdowns.

This past season, Coleman took another leap forward to earn All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. He finished as the team’s leading rusher with 871 yards and five touchdowns and was also heavily involved in the passing game with 25 catches for 283 yards and a touchdown.

While it’s not a guarantee he’s the starter for the Huskies this fall, it’s probably a good bet.

In any case, Rogers will get his shot to compete now that he’s sticking around for another season.

Tybo Rogers played high school football at Bakersfield (CA) where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 862 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as a Top-75 RB in the class and a Top-100 player out of the state of California.
