West Virginia is getting ready to take on Texas. For Mountaineers coach Neal Brown, this poses a unique challenge. He doesn’t know who Texas is going to play at quarterback, whether it be Quinn Ewers or Hudson Card, as Steve Sarkisian has been trying to hide the starter since Ewers’ injury. On top of that, Brown needs to be ready for Sarkisian’s explosive scheme.

While speaking to the media, Neal Brown praised both of Texas’ quarterbacks. He also spoke about how challenging it is to prepare for Steve Sarkisian’s offense.

“Lot of respect for that brand and the team,” Neal Brown said. “Start with the offense. I think it starts with Sark. I think he’s as good of a play caller as there is in college football.”

“Quarterback, whoever plays, they’re going to play at a high level at quarterback.”

Neal Brown took the time to praise Hudson Card, Texas’ experienced backup quarterback. After all, at many other schools, he might be the starter.

“I think Hudson Card has played really well. You know, [I’ve] been watching him since high school. Played at Lake Travis, one of the best high school programs in the country. He could have gone anywhere in the country. I think he’s a really good player. He played last year when he was healthy as well,” Neal Brown said.

“If Ewers plays, I thought he played extremely well early on against Alabama. Obviously, highly regarded. So, whoever lines up at quarterback, they’re gonna be good, alright? So, I think it’s pretty simple there.”
