2024 OT Derek Jensen commits to Wisconsin
Hartland (Wis.) Arrowhead three-star offensive tackle Derek Jensen has committed to Wisconsin. He announced the news on Twitter.
Jensen is the No. 624 overall prospect and No. 43 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 6 player in Wisconsin.
While he’s not ranked in the 2024 On300, Jensen is ranked as the No. 38 offensive tackle in the country by On3.
Prior to his commitment Jensen had visited Wisconsin once on Sept. 17. He had also taken visits to Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State and Ohio State.
The 6-foot-7, 315-pounder is the fourth commitment in Wisconsin’s 2024 recruiting class. He joins Algonquin (Ill.) four-star tight end Grant Stec, Waunakee (Wis.) three-star tight end Rob Booker and The Woodlands (Texas) three-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer.
The Badgers 2024 class currently ranks as the No. 19 class in the country and the No. 4 class in the Big Ten. In the last recruiting cycle the Badgers signed 15 players and had a class that ranked as the No. 43 class in the country and the No. 8 class in the Big Ten.
Jensen currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $18K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
