Green Bay (Wis.) Bay Port three-star linebacker Landon Gauthier has announced his commitment to Wisconsin. He chose the Badgers over Minnesota, Stanford and Syracuse among others.

Gauthier is the No. 707 overall prospect and No. 78 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 7 player in Wisconsin.

“Thank you to all of my coaches throughout my years of athletics who have played a huge part in my development as an athlete and as a man,” Gauthier wrote. “I would also like to show my gratitude to my friends and friends for believing in me. Lastly, I would like to thank the coaches who have recruited me and who believed in my athletic ability enough to be a part of their program. This has been an unbelievably exciting journey. With that being said, I am blessed to announce my commitment to the University of Wisconsin!”

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound defender made multiple visits to Madison for games last season. Meanwhile, his last trip to Wisconsin came on April 11.

Head coach Luke Fickell and his staff now have commitments from six players. They are Gauthier, Algonquin (Ill.) Harry D. Jacobs four-star tight end Grant Stec, Waunakee (Wis.) three-star tight end Rob Booker, The Woodlands (Texas) three-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer, Hartland (Wis.) Arrowhead three-star offensive tackle Derek Jensen and Sioux Falls (S.D.) Jefferson three-star linebacker Thomas Heiberger.

Wisconsin has been successful recently on the recruiting trail

Jensen, Heiberger and Gauthier have all committed to the Badgers since April 2. Meanwhile, Booker and Stec chose Wisconsin over two days at the end of January, and Mettauer pledged to Fickell and Co. on Dec. 24.

Following Gauthier’s commitment, Wisconsin’s 2024 recruiting class is No. 20 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 5 in the Big Ten. That position is in part to having pledges from three of the top seven players in Wisconsin: Gauthier, Jensen and Booker.

At the moment, the Badgers hold very close leads for two of the top three players in their home state, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. They are four-star interior offensive lineman Donovan Harbour and four-star running back Corey Smith, top-200 teammates at Waukesha (Wis.) Catholic Memorial.

The Badgers are also trending for Middleton (Wis.) three-star linebacker Sam Pilof, the No. 9 player in Wisconsin.
