The suspension of Wisconsin linebacker Jordan Turner did not last long. Turner has been reinstated to the program, according to Jeff Potrykus, who covers the Badgers.

Turner was suspended only 10 days after he was cited for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) — also known as drinking and driving.

Jordan Turner also received several other citations. He released a statement through Potrykus late last month.

“Earlier this week, I was cited with an OWI first offense along with additional traffic violations. My parents raised me to do the right things in life and unfortunately this time, I didn’t. I made the wrong decision. I’m very disappointed and embarrassed and I want to personally apologize to my parents, my teammates, my coaches, the fans and the University of Wisconsin. I take this matter very seriously and I vow to learn from this and be a better man going forward,” Turner said in the statement.

After redshirting as a true freshman in 2020, Turner played in six games in 2021 and all 13 for Wisconsin in 2022. He has three career interceptions and 74 total tackles.

The Michigan native started 11 games in 2022, ranking second on the team in total tackles with 65. He earned Defensive MVP honors at the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.

Jordan Turner isn’t the only Wisconsin player who found himself in legal trouble this offseason.

According to a report from BadgerExtra back in May, a dispute over an open container of alcohol ultimately led to Wisconsin wide receiver Markus Allen being arrested for carrying a concealed weapon while at a block party.

Allen has since entered the transfer portal.

Allen reportedly was approached by a Madison police officer after the officer suspected Allen of carrying an open container of alcohol. The police department reportedly warned ahead of time that open containers would not be allowed at the block party.

BadgerExtra received documents that state that Allen was told to pour out his drink, but instead he hid it near his leg. When the officer reached to see if the cup was empty, Allen poured it on the officer’s shin and boot.

After Allen did that, he was reportedly told that he was being arrested for an open container. He was wearing a black and grey Rose Bowl backpack as he was arrested. Officers reportedly searched the backpack and found a gun inside. The gun — a Glock 19 — was allegedly stolen in June of 2022, according to the report. Officers learned that the gun was stolen after checking the gun’s registration information.
