Baltimore Ravens running back not active for Monday Night Football

Ahead of their Monday night matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, the Baltimore Ravens have not activated one of their key offensive players. Running back Le’Veon Bell will not be available against the Colts, while wide receiver Miles Boykin is expected to be activated ahead of the game from the injured reserve list.
Baltimore Ravens missing depth on Monday night
A Baltimore backfield already devastated by injuries will continue to have personnel issues against the Colts on Monday Night Football.
“The Ravens did not activate running back Le’Veon Bell for tonight’s game against the Colts,” detailed ESPN’s Field Yates on Monday. “We’ll see if that means that Ty’Son Williams is active tonight after being a healthy scratch in Week 4.”
Before the season even began, the Ravens suffered brutal injuries to their expected leaders from the running back position. J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill were all lost during the preseason to major injuries.
Bell was called up from the practice squad for his Ravens debut in their week 4 win against the Denver Broncos, playing 27 percent of the offensive snaps and rushing four times for 11 yards. Bell and Williams have competed for the third roster spot over the past few weeks as they both help relieve Latavius Murray and Devonta Freeman.
There was some good news on Monday for the Ravens though as wide receiver Miles Boykin is supposed to be activated from the injured reserve list.
“The Ravens are expected to activate wide receiver Miles Boykin before tonight’s game against the Colts, source said,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. “He’s been on IR, but officially back now. Not yet for first-round rookie Rashod Bateman who has also been practicing.”

Ravens record rushing streak
Despite their depleted running back room, the Baltimore Ravens tied an NFL record on the final play of Sunday’s 23-7 win over the Denver Broncos. With a 16-point lead late in the fourth quarter, the Ravens defense forced a turnover, creating a chance to troll the Pittsburgh Steelers and make a little history.
Coming into the game, the Ravens had run for 100-plus yards as a team in 42 straight games, one short of the Steelers record 43-game streak from 1974-77. As the clock ticked down, the Baltimore Ravens were just three yards short of 100 but appeared to be out of time.
With three seconds left on the clock, Ravens defensive back Anthony Averett jumped in front of Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton to make an interception in the back of the endzone. After a short celebration, the offense ran onto the field.
Everyone in the stadium anticipated the customary kneel down from quarterback Lamar Jackson, who lined up with a man to his left in the shotgun. Instead, he took the snap and ran to the left behind a dedicated team of blockers. He picked up five yards and stepped out of bounds as time expired to end the game and make his way into the history books.
With 102 rushing yards on the day, the Baltimore Ravens tied the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL-record streak of 43 consecutive games with at least 100 yards on the ground.
