Former Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough leads Birmingham Stallions to inaugural USFL title

A spring football league completed its season on Sunday, with the USFL hosting the first inaugural USFL Championship in Canton, OH. The Birmingham Stallions were the first-ever league champion, taking down the Philadelphia Stars by a field goal in what was a thrilling game.
Birmingham running back Bo Scarbrough was thought to be the highlight of the night, rushing for over 100 yards. He scored the first-ever USFL Championship game touchdown as well, taking one 37 yards early in the second quarter.
However, the MVP voters saw it in a different way. Scarbrough was not given the award despite having 135 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Instead, wide receiver Vic Bolden was named the gameβs MVP after going for 64 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Nonetheless, Scarbrough got to raise the championship trophy on Sunday night. Fireworks and confetti shot off in the background as he did β putting a perfect ending to what was a great season from both Birmingham and the running back.

Winning football championships are usually meant for the months of January or February but for the first time, July gets to see a trophy raised. The USFL was able to complete their entire season and did so successfully while broadcasting on Fox.
Winning championships is nothing new for Scarbrough, who appeared in three College Football Playoffs during his time with Alabama. He won two national championships (2015, 2017), while losing one in between. Scarbrough has been a key part of all the titles he has now been associated with.
Louisiana Tech also had a major influence on this victory for the Stallions. Former head coach Skip Holtz led the team, while a plethora of Bulldogs players are on the roster. While Bo Scarbrough may have had the biggest influence on the night, he of course could not have done it on his own.
