Brent Crews launching NASCAR Truck Series team, debuting at Watkins Glen

Are we going to see a resurgence of driver-owned teams? Brent Crews is launching his own NASCAR Truck Series team. Crews will be he first to pilot his No. 70 truck in the Watkins Glen race coming up on the schedule.
Brent Crews is launching the new team in time to race at Watkins Glen. He plans on hitting the road course and making a lot of noise in the first outing with his newly minted team.
The organization will field Toyota Tundra trucks. Crews will race the 70 this season, along with his previously scheduled starts in the Tricon Garage No. 1 truck.
According to Jeff Gluck of The Athletic, Brent Crews has sold his micro sprint cars and his TA2 Trans-Am car to help fund this new venture. At 17 years old, Crews is a team and truck owner. That’s a pretty big deal.
The young driver clarified the legal ownership of the team on his X/Twitter account. He isn’t going to own the team officially until he turns 18 next year. However, for all intents and purposes, it belongs to him.
Pristine Auction is set to sponsor the 70 truck at Watkins Glen. This is a very interesting venture for Crews at this point in his career. It could lead to a new resurgence in driver-owned teams. Or it could be a thing that ends as quickly as it began.
Is Brent Crews going Truck Series racing full-time?
Another thing to think about is what the plan is for 2026? Brent Crews will turn 18 and will be able to race at all of the big tracks. So, he can theoretically race in ARCA, Truck, or Xfinity Series full-time. Crews definitely doesn’t need to race ARCA next season.

So, is this a sign of what his full-time plans will be for next season? In a press release, Crews said he was inspired by people like Brian Keselowski and tales of running his own equipment, scraping by to get to the track, and living the racing lifestyle. Crews wanted a piece of that.
It would be a bit strange to launch this team and not race in 2026. A truck is expensive, and getting it to the track and back is not an easy or inexpensive task in and of itself. Perhaps Crews could go full-time Xfinity Series racing with Joe Gibbs Racing and use his truck on the road courses and short tracks in the Truck Series. There are many options here.
“I don’t really know where this is going to go, but with all the buzz around road course guys right now, it didn’t seem right to miss Watkins Glen. I love the track. … Watching on TV was NOT an option,” Crews explained in a statement.
So, a new Truck Series organization. Brent Crews is taking a big step up. For now, Crews and his team will operate out of the Nitro Motorsports shop. There will be further announcements made in the coming days.
