CeeDee Lamb gives first-hand update of Dak Prescott recovery: He's got his power back

As Dak Prescott continues to work his way back from surgery on his thumb, Dallas receiver CeeDee Lamb praised his current throwing power. According to Lamb, Prescott is already throwing the football with the same power he had before suffering the break in his throwing hand.
CeeDee Lamb updates Dak Prescott recovery
“Dak Prescott assured reporters he has velocity on his throws and told us to ask his receivers to confirm,” said ESPN’s Ed Werder. “So I asked Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb: ‘Physically, he’s got his power back. You feel it in every throw.’’ After another DNP, Prescott said he expects to do more tomorrow.”
As soon as Prescott suffered his injury in the season opener, fans began to wonder how long it would take for him to return to the field. Before backup Cooper Rush stepped up to the challenge in a massive way — leading Dallas to a 4-1 record — the rumors from Dallas were indicating Prescott was eyeing a return by Week 5 against the Rams.
With Rush succeeding in the role and with Prescott still working his way back from surgery, it could be at least Week 7 before Dallas fans see Prescott back on the field. On Wednesday, Prescott did not practice again but continues to throw the ball in preparation for a return. Lamb’s comments indicate that his quarterback’s progression seems to be coming along, but the team still is poised to start Rush again.

The most important factor in Dallas’ success with Prescott out has been a combination of balance offensive play calling and one of the toughest defenses in the NFL. Dallas has not allowed more than one touchdown in any of the five games they’ve played so far this season.
Defensive star Micah Parsons is one of the main reasons for their defensive power, although he joined Prescott on the “did not practice” list. Parsons is still recovering from a groin injury he suffered during last week’s win, and although he did not practice on Wednesday he is still preparing to play this week against their undefeated NFC East rival — the Eagles.
