Dale Earnhardt Jr. wants to sprinkle some of that Xfinity 'sh*t' from Martinsville into NASCAR Cup series

Dale Earnhardt Jr. wants the NASCAR Cup Series races to be a little more like what the Xfinity Series race at Martinsville was this past weekend. On Dale Jr. Download, Earnhardt said he would like to see more Cup drivers have more feuds and be more emotional.
“The Cup race is the exact opposite of what we saw Saturday. It’s too clean,” Earnhardt said. “There’s some beating and banging, and there’s some anger and frustration. But the drivers get over things really quickly. There’s some guys that go out of their cars like [Joey] Logano talking about [Ross] Chastain. I love that. We need it.
“Where we had too much of that sh*t Saturday, I would have a litte more sprinkled into the Sunday race in terms of little controversy, just at least one feud. If you go to Martinsville with the Cup car and you don’t come out of there with at least one feud, it was not a good race.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. shares thoughts on Sammy Smith
Dale Earnhardt Jr. is referring to Sammy Smith and Taylor Gray having a confrontation after the Martinsville Xfinity Series race. During the final laps, Smith ran into Gray and knocked him out of the lead. NASCAR penalized Smith by docking 50 driver points and fining him $25,000. Gray and fellow driver Jeb Burton were fined $5,000 for behavioral penalties.

On Dale Jr. Download, Earnhardt shared his thoughts on Sammy Smith who drives for Earnhardt’s team JR Motorosports. “I thought on it. Didn’t just freaking wipe it out of my mind and just go about my way. I sat on this for 48 hours,” Earnhardt said. “Sammy’s my driver. This ain’t for anybody else, y’all can continue to be pissed and think what you want. But for me, I got to shift to what do I do to give Sammy the best, most honest advice I can to help him shift to do better. I gotta figure out how Sammy can clean this up. It’s a mess he’s made.
“In the end, I gotta support him and try to give him the tools and the knowledge to make the better decision next time. NASCAR’s gonna make its own decision how they wanna penalize him; I’m absolutely fine with that. I encourage NASCAR to act whenever they feel someone deserves some sort of penalty. I’m expecting it. I don’t wanna say I’m fine with what they wanna do. But I hope they handle this properly and I expect they will.”
