Although the Denver Broncos can’t begin any in-person interviews with candidates to replace head coach Nathaniel Hackett until after the wild card round, it appears that they already have a group of frontrunners – at least in Vegas.

Just a couple of days after the Broncos requested the Dallas Cowboys’ permission to interview defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, the former Atlanta Falcons head coach is the odds leader in Las Vegas to take the top job at Mile High.

Dallas offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is also included in the Vegas odds, however, his odds are +3300 compared to Quinn at +200.

Denver seems to be leaning a certain way in regard to what direction the organization wants to go with the hire. Aside from Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and former Saints head coach Sean Payton, the other top candidates are defensive-minded. With the exception of San Francisco coordinator DeMeco Ryans, the top five odds leaders have also led NFL teams before, with varying degrees of success.

Here are the latest odds out of Las Vegas for who will become the next head coach of the Denver Broncos.

Quinn responds to Broncos interview request: ‘Flattered’

Dan Quinn had a chance to respond to the Denver Broncos’ request to interview him for their open head coaching position on Monday. Quinn told reporters that he is “flattered,” however, he wouldn’t divulge whether he will give the job further consideration.

“Anybody asks you, you’re flattered,” Quinn said before moving on to questions about the Cowboys’ preparation for the wild card game versus Tampa Bay.

The Denver Broncos requested to interview Quinn last year as well after he won the AP’s Assistant Coach of the Year honor. The job seemed to pique his interest, however, they opted to hire Nathaniel Hackett, which stopped the process from moving forward.

Quinn interviewed several teams last season but returned to Dallas. The former Falcons head coach ultimately signed a contract extension, which included a “substantial raise.” After once again helping the Cowboys to the playoffs, Quinn’s name is back at the top of candidate lists.
