Report: Dallas Cowboys expressed interest in wide receiver through trade market
Despite trading Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns, the Dallas Cowboys are seemingly in the market to add another wide receiver to their roster. According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Dallas inquired about trading for one before the Miami Dolphins found a different partner.
The player in question is DeVante Parker, who Miami recently traded to AFC East divisional rival, the New England Patriots. Schefter said the Cowboys “expressed interest” in Parker, wanting to add him to the duo that is Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb. At the end of the day, New England was the destination.
Dallas is “not done” when it comes to the wide receiver market either, according to Schefter. Whether it’s through the 2022 NFL draft or via the trade market, general manager Jerry Jones wants to add another pass catcher to help out offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and quarterback Dak Prescott.
Parker was traded to New England, bringing in reinforcements for second-year quarterback Mac Jones. Throughout his career, the wide receiver has caught 338 passes for 4,727 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns. He was the No. 14 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft. Now, he will be switching to a different side of the AFC East and will be facing off against his former Miami team twice a season.
Dallas Cowboys raise season ticket prices
The latest news coming out of Dallas might not make the Cowboys fans too happy. The Cowboys have announced that they will raise their ticket prices for the 2022 season. The Cowboys are coming off a campaign in which they went twelve and five in the regular season, capturing the NFC East title. However, their championship aspirations were cut short after losing at home in the Wild Card round to the San Francisco 49ers. Despite the lackluster finish to their 2021 season, those in the front office feel like now is the right time to cash in and raise admission prices.
According to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the average ticket price will increase 20 percent compared to last year. Some of the most notable changes in the ticket price are club tickets going up from $410 to $430. Also, some lower-level tickets will increase in price from $160 to $190. And with the upcoming year being the first year Dallas will have nine regular-season home games, Dallas stands to make some solid gains in revenue next season.
The official home schedule has not yet been released but opponents will include the three NFC East teams, Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, and Tampa Bay.
