Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons makes overture to veteran Calais Campbell

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is confident his team will be playing in the Super Bowl soon. He made that clear with his comments during the week, and now, he’s trying to enlist some more help to make it happen.
Baltimore Ravens veteran Calais Campbell defensive tackle tweeted, “I really want to play in Super Bowl 58,” on Sunday before the end of the game between Philadelphia and Kansas City.
“Better put a star in your helmet big bro,” Parsons responded with a sunglasses-wearing emoji.
Campbell is actually still under contract with Baltimore through 2023. However, the Ravens are likely to do some negotiating to reduce a $9.4 salary-cap hit. They have quarterback Lamar Jackson to think about. He’ll draw a massive sum for the 2023 season. Campbell’s contract includes a potential out this offseason
Campbell is the NFL’s oldest defensive lineman and he’s already proclaimed his desire to play another season. After he had 10.5 tackles for loss in 2021, he posted 5.5 sacks this season. He hadn’t hit that mark since his final season in Jacksonville in 2019.
Campbell went No. 50 overall in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft out of Miami to the Arizona Cardinals.
The defensive tackle appears to have more to give after 15 seasons. He is just one sack shy of 100 on his career. He told ESPN that the milestone is, “not at the top of the list, but it’s something I really want.”

Parsons eyeing Daron Payne
Parsons hit Radio Row hard ahead of Super Bowl LVII. Joining Pro Football Talk Live, the former defensive rookie of the year opened up about how far he believes his team is from getting back to the Super Bowl. Parsons also revealed what he thinks Dallas needs to do to make it happen by next season.
“I feel like we’re right there,” Parsons said. “We’re two plays away. We’re two or three plays away. I hate that s***… We just gotta be more accountable, more aware, we have to go after it in free agency too.”
A successful Cowboys offseason for Parsons would include adding an NFC East rival.
“I would like to see us get… I like Daron Payne a lot,” Parsons said. “Would love to get another rusher, I would love to get a big body corner out there. I hope we keep LV (Leighton Vander Esch). Everybody wants a receiver, might as well get a receiver too.
“I mean, you gotta spend the money. Yeah, I think we got a chance, we could be in Vegas next year. “
Payne, a former Alabama star, posted a career-high 11.5 sacks for the Commanders this season. He could be a viable free agent for the Cowboys, however, Washington may end up putting the franchise tag on him.
