Will Levis has a lot to prove still heading into the NFL Draft. As scouts break down the game and skillsets of him along with the other quarterbacks in the class, there are several areas of growth and improvement that they’d like to see from the Kentucky QB.

Heading into the Wildcat’s Pro Day in Lexington, ESPN’s Todd McShay and Louis Riddick have now both identified what they want to see from Levis during his workout inside Nutter Fieldhouse today. To start, Riddick highlighted improved fluidity in his processes and throwing motion. While he impressed at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, he thought Levis looked a little rigid and now wants to see growth from him in that area from then to today.

“I think what you would most want to see is the accuracy. You want to see the football come out of Levis’ hands fluidly with consistent mechanics. Him tying his feet and his hips together,” Riddick said. “He’s made great improvements with it. He still has a ways to go but he has really improved. So you want to see that manifest itself in him being a little more fluid with his throwing motion and his mechanics than he was at the combine.”

“Quite frankly, (Levis) looked a little rigid, a little stiff, a little programmed there,” admitted Riddick. “That’s really what you want to see today. You just don’t want to see the ball hit the ground because he didn’t put it where it needs to be put. Everything from there will take care of itself.”

As for McShay, he wanted to see Levis make the easy throws. Considering his body and his mentality, he’s always willing to go load it up and throw the ball deep. However, he thinks Levis needs to be more flexible to prove he can measure up with the draft’s other QBs.

“Personally, I want to see the layups hit. By that I mean with 10-12 yards off the line of scrimmage throws. (That’s) where I think his upper body is too tight,” said McShay. “He needs more Tom Brady flexibility in his regiment than he does benchpress. You see it with the tightness of his upper body and missing those easy throws. I want to see the touch and the timing that we saw from CJ Stroud and Bryce Young on some throws underneath.”

Again, Levis is trying to quiet the noise around him with the performances he’s putting on during his evaluations. Now, this is his next opportunity to show scouts and experts like McShay and Riddick who he is. From there, they can determine for themselves what they think he could do at the next level.
