Former NFL running back challenges Jake Paul to boxing match
Whether Le’Veon Bell wants attention, money or all of the above, he recently decided to throw his hat in the “I want to box Jake Paul” sweepstakes. The list of people that want to fight the YouTube star turned amateur boxer seems to change by the minute.
On Sunday, Bell wrote the following post on his Twitter account to Paul. “I’m tired of watching him out box ppl who don’t even wanna box…if he wanna boxing match, a real one, he’d fight me…period, stop fightin small dudes who can’t box.”
He then posted the tweet of him challenging Jake Paul to a fight on Twitter, after Paul dropped former UFC fighter Tyron Woodley in their rematch on Saturday night.
This could end up being one of the worst moves in Lev Bell’s washed up football career. A once incredible running back with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bell has now stooped to the remarkably low level of challenging a YouTube boxer.
It’s not smart for a number of reasons. For one, it reeks of desperation. Two, he’s Le’Veon Bell. He’s rushed for over 6,500 rushing yards and 62 touchdowns in a remarkably accomplished NFL career.
Lev Bell in his prime with the Pittsburgh Steelers was a thing of beauty to watch. He could stop, stick to his offensive linemen, and glide off of them into spaces the way few running backs in the game ever could. His running style was a work of art. He’s accomplished way more on the football field than Jake Paul could ever dream of in the boxing ring.
Three, Paul could hit Bell with power in the boxing ring, more power than he could handle. Far more power than Bell displayed in his boxing video he posted on YouTube. Four, it makes completely no sense for Bell to risk his reputation as an athlete and put it on the line against Jake Paul.

People can say what they want about Jake Paul outside the boxing ring, but he’s definitely got enough power in his right hand to send Lev Bell straight to the canvas.
That being said, Paul has carefully selected his opponents time and time again, so that he fights boxers of skill that are just good enough to attract interest, but can’t beat him.
He knows that once he loses, his run of fame as an “undefeated” boxer will end as well. Bell would likely fall in the category of fighters that Paul would pick from. He’s in the inexperienced and “not good at boxing” category.
Regardless of the competition he has faced, Paul has done a great job of getting more money for UFC fighters and other boxers/fighters that deserve much more than they are paid.
Would he actually box Lev Bell? It’s highly doubtful, there are too many other talented, legitimate fighters that want to fight him.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers’ star needs to just ride off into the sunset and enjoy his retirement.
