Georgia adds Garrett Cox to its defensive coaching staff

Georgia continues to add to its 2025 coaching staff. The Bulldogs have hired former TCU assistant linebacker coach Garrett Cox. CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz was the first to report the addition.
Cox is expected to join Georgia in some capacity on the defensive side of the ball. He has connections to the SEC and the current Bulldogs’ coaching staff.
Cox has made stops at Alabama, Tennessee and Texas Southern before making his move to TCU. He got his start at Georgia Southern in 2007.
Cox was also a student assistant at Georgia in 2006 where he crossed paths with a young Kirby Smart who Georgia was the Bulldogs’ running back coach at the time. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia.
