Hunter Renfrow beats All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey in practice

Las Vegas wide receiver Hunter Renfrow said he beat of one of the NFL’s best cornerbacks in the Raiders-Rams joint practice on Wednesday, while Jalen Ramsey said that fans shouldn’t believe what “people say [just] for clicks.”
The verdict, according to subsequent videos: Renfrow was right.
The former fifth-round draft pick has continued to show significant developments entering his third season with the Raiders, and this week he proved it by getting the best of Ramsey.
Although quarterback Derek Carr overthrew Renfrow on this particular play, Renfrow had Ramsey beat in the end zone. And according to numerous reports, this wasn’t the only rime Renfrow beat Ramsey, a two-time All-Pro, in what was a very productive practice for the slot receiver.
“If I can beat Jalen Ramsey, then I can beat anybody in the NFL, because he is one of the best,” Renfrow said. “That’s how I approach it. He got me a couple of times, and hopefully tomorrow we make each other better again.”

Renfrow became a fan favorite in his collegiate years at Clemson, joining the team in 2014 as a walk-on and quickly earning a scholarship in 2015. Over the course of his five-year college career, Renfrow put together one of the most unlikely stories in college football, tallying over 2,000 yards and 15 touchdowns, while setting the Clemson program record for consecutive starts by a wide receiver (47) and consecutive games with a reception (43). Perhaps the peak of Renfrow’s career with the Tigers came at the conclusion of the 2016 season, when he reeled in 10 receptions for 92 yards and two touchdowns — including the game-winner — in the national championship game against Alabama.
“He doesn’t get enough credit for how straight-line fast he is,” Carr said of Renfrow on Wednesday. “I don’t think his 40 time, I don’t know what it was but whatever it was doesn’t do it justice. He’s fast. He can run. And just as fast as he can go that way, he can go this way.”
Ramsey denied being beat by Renfrow, and took to Twitter to voice his side of the story.
