Injured Chiefs wideout Mecole Hardman announces girlfriend's water broke on Super Bowl Sunday
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman may be missing Super Bowl LVII with an injury, but it’s still a miraculous occasion for his family.
Early on Sunday morning, Hardman took to Twitter to share his girlfriend Chariah had her water break, and a Super Bowl baby is on the way.
“Amazing: #Chiefs Mecole Hardman’s girlfriend, Chariah Gordon, has had her water break this morning, same day as the Super Bowl,” tweeted Dov Kleiman. “Hardman is on IR and wasn’t going to play. We have a Super Bowl baby!’
Alas, Hardman’s reaction may have been the best part, as he took to Twitter this morning at 5:40 a.m. EST to reveal the amazing news.
“OMG HER WATER BROKE,” tweeted the former Georgia star.
Congratulations to Mecole Hardman, his girlfriend Chariah and their families on a momentous occasion, as it doesn’t get much more special than that.
Paul Finebaum predicts Philadelphia Eagles to win Super Bowl 57
Meanwhile, ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum is raining on the parade. While he normally sticks to college football and the SEC, he’s gone out and made a prediction for the 57th Super Bowl where he expects the Philadelphia Eagles to beat the Kansas City Chiefs.
Finebaum made this prediction during an appearance on the McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning podcast.
“I’m going with the Eagles,” Paul Finbaum said. “Basing it on nothing more than I like Jalen Hurts.”
Hurts, the Eagles’ starting quarterback, played at Alabama before transferring to Oklahoma for his final season. During his time with the Crimson Tide, he was benched in the national championship but chose to stick around for another season where he became a hero in the SEC Championship.
“I wouldn’t begin to break this game down, considering what the audience will be subjected to over the next five days, but I just think they have, talking about consistency, outside of the stretch when Jalen was hurt, I think they’ve been the best team all year,” Finebaum continued.
“I’m not sure what voodoo doctor got Patrick Mahomes ready for the championship game, but I still think he’s got to be feeling some effects of that ankle sprain.”
Paul Finebaum referenced the ankle sprain that Kansas City’s star quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered in the divisional round and is still likely to be feeling the impact in the Super Bowl.
