Jimmy Johnson gives harsh take on Dak Prescott's playoff record
Since Jimmy Johnson left the Dallas Cowboys, the franchise hasn’t enjoyed the level of success it once did. The Super Bowls have been hard to come by — heck, playoff victories have been hard to come by.
Even with quarterbacks like Dak Prescott and Tony Romo leading the team, Dallas hasn’t been able to make the run their fans are starved for. On Sunday, Prescott and the Cowboys wrote another chapter in the team’s book of playoff failure.
Afterwards, Johnson took to Twitter to comment on Prescott and his record in the playoffs.
“A shame,” tweeted Johnson, regarding a statistic revealing Prescott’s playoff record in his first six seasons in Dallas.
Moreover, the loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday dropped Prescott’s record to 1-3 in the playoffs. Ironically, it’s the same record Romo had through his first six seasons in the playoffs. Even though Dallas has received great quarterback play, it doesn’t seem to matter in the playoffs.
Johnson knows what it takes to win in Dallas. While Prescott may be one of the league’s most talented quarterbacks, his lack of playoff victories has been disappointing.

Prescott: ‘We definitely underachieved’
Furthermore, Dak Prescott had delusions of grandeur for 2021. While the Cowboys won the NFC East, Dallas had bigger dreams than that. Instead of ending their Super Bowl drought, the Cowboys will be watching the remainder of the playoffs from home.
As he stood at the podium following the game, Prescott was dejected. With disappointment taking over every ounce of his body, Prescott gave a definitive summary of the 2021 season for the Cowboys.
“We definitely underachieved, and it sucks,” stated Prescott. “Point blank.”
Many will agree with Prescott. Cowboys faithful certainly believes their favorite team underachieved, while owner Jerry Jones has to be wondering if he could’ve got more bang for his buck. Now, the team must restart the long, winding road to another attempt at the Super Bowl.
The 2021 season was a good one for Dallas, but will be remembered for the demoralizing ending to the year. In the end, it’s just another chapter in heartbreak for Prescott and the Cowboys.
