Finally, some positive updates are started to roll out following the terrifying Monday Night Football incident involving Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin collapsing on the field. He was taken to the University of Cincinnati Hospital, where he’s been treated since late Monday night.

However, on Thursday morning, fellow Bills defensive back Kaiir Elam tweeted this encouraging tidbit:

“Our boy is doing better, awake and showing more signs of improvement. Thank you God. Keep the prayers coming please. All love 3!”

This is obviously good news regarding Hamlin’s ongoing recovery. A little bit after the Kaiir Elam tweet, NFL reporter Ian Rapoport tweeted his own, more detailed update on Damar Hamlin.

“#Bills S Damar Hamlin opened his eyes last night and is responsive. Truly incredible,” Rapoport tweeted. “One thing that’s very clear from speaking to those close to him: They are endlessly appreciative of the medical care given to Hamlin on the field immediately, then over the last 72 hours.”

Buffalo Bills release Thursday statement on Damar Hamlin

The Bills team Twitter account released a statement Thursday morning regarding Hamlin’s health and recovery, which you can read and see below:

“Per the physicians caring for Damar Hamlin at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Damar has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours. While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lungs continue to heal and he is making steady progress.

“We are grateful for the love and support we have received.”

A nice start to Thursday on the Hamlin situation. After days of little to no updates on the player, Thursday at least provided a few positive nuggets.
