The Memphis Tigers (1-0) will travel to Atlanta to take on the Georgia State Panthers (0-1) this Saturday, Sep. 6 at 6 pm CDT (ESPN+). The Tigers are coming off a 45-10 win over Chattanooga, while the Panthers lost 63-7 to Ole Miss in their season opener. Here are 3 things to watch for in the Tigers’ first road game of the season.

1. WR Rotation

How much will Nevada transfer WR Cortez Braham play? Ryan Silverfield said Braham would need to get properly conditioned before playing a full workload of snaps. Braham is listed as a backup WR on the two-deep depth chart for the second straight week. He recorded 3 catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in his Tigers debut. CJ Smith is on the depth chart this week, after being left off due to injury week one. Five different receivers caught a pass in the Chattanooga game for the Tigers.

2. RB Health

Greg Desrosiers left the Chattanooga game with an injury in the first quarter. Silverfield said Desrosiers is “day-to-day.” If Desrosiers cannot go, there will be more opportunity for Makari Bodiford and Frank Peasant behind Sutton Smith.

3. Run Defense

The Tigers’ run defense will be tested Saturday. Georgia State has a talented group of backs led by former South Carolina, Miami (OH), Ole Miss, and Memphis RB Rashod Amos. Former South Carolina RB Djay Braswell, and former Georgia Bulldog Branson Robinson will also get carries for the Panthers. Amos ran 9 times for 55 yards vs Ole Miss last Saturday. As a team, the Panthers rushed for 191 yards, averaging 5.5 yards per carry.
