Michigan State HC Jonathan Smith provides health updates on Gavin Broscious, Kristian Phillips

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Don’t expect daily or even weekly health updates as Michigan State’s fall camp hits full gear, but Spartan head coach Jonathan Smith indicated that the team is pretty healthy as practice began on Tuesday. “I would say solid, knock on wood,” Smith said, when asked about the team’s health. “Haven’t come across the season-ending (injury) to that extent. We are being - I call it - smart with some guys, into camp, and we’ll ease them into it. But currently we feel pretty solid.” In order to have access to watching portions of practice, media are asked not to reveal availability news, in terms of which players are sidelined with ailments. But Smith acknowledged that offensive guards Kristian Phillips and Gavin Broscious were back on the field, Tuesday. Smith was asked about former four-star recruit offensive lineman Cole Dellinger (6-4, 301, R-Soph., Clarkston, Mich.), who missed the 2023 and ’24 seasons due to injury. (MORE inside SpartanMag).
