New Era Cap CEO facing felony charge for reckless endangerment in vehicle

The CEO of New Era Cap is facing a felony charge for reckless endangerment after trying to run a man over, according to a Monday report. CEO Christopher Koch is accused of trying to run over his girlfriend’s ex-husband after an argument that occurred in a parking lot of a restaurant over the weekend.
Koch is alleged to have “intentionally drove his vehicle toward the man” after he exited his own vehicle and approached Koch. The man was able to avoid being run over but injured himself in the process.

“New Era Cap CEO Christopher Koch is accused of trying to run over his girlfriend’s ex-husband following an argument in the parking lot of a North Buffalo restaurant over the weekend,” explained Sports Business Journal‘s John Ourand.
The wild incident over the weekend took place after an alleged argument between the men outside of a restaurant in Buffalo. Authorities stated that the “other man exited his vehicle and approached Koch’s vehicle,” at which point Koch “intentionally drove his vehicle toward the man,” according to the Sports Business Journal report.

While the man was not seriously injured according to the initial report, the charges Koch is facing are incredibly serious. Koch was arraigned Monday morning on the charge of reckless endangerment — a felony charge — and is facing up to seven years in prison. Koch has been the CEO of New Era Cap since 2001.
