New York Giants teammates Wan'Dale Robinson, CorDale Flott joke about competing against each other
From the SEC to New York. In speaking with the media, former LSU cornerback CorDale Flott revealed that former Kentucky wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson was the toughest pass catcher he faced-off against last season. Fast forward, the old SEC competitors are teammates in the NFL with the Giants.
First, the Giants secured Robinson with the No. 43 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Then, Flott was brought to New York with the No. 81 overall selection, making the duo teammates.
During their introductory press conference with the Giants, Robinson responded to Flott’s kind words about him being tough to cover.
“He was a tough one, too,” Robinson said, complimenting Flott. “Whenever I saw that, I looked at my girl and said he was tough too. So, that’s just props to each other. Just trying to make each other better out there, and just competing. And now we’re teammates, and we’re going to have to make each other better each and every day out there on the practice field.”
Last season, Robinson’s Kentucky squad defeated Flott’s Tigers in a 42-21 drubbing. During the game, the star wide receiver caught eight passes for 60 yards and one touchdown. On the other hand, Flott had three tackles.
While the first battle went to Robinson, both are ready to battle in practice together.
“Iron sharpens iron,” stated Robinson.
Of course, Flott couldn’t agree more, adding, “That’s the perfect quote for that one.”
The Giants went into the draft emphasizing athletes with high character and immense potential. In Wan’Dale Robinson and CorDale Flott, they achieved that goal.

First, Wan’Dale Robinson had a breakout campaign after transferring to Kentucky. In just one season at with the Wildcats, Robinson caught a team-high 104 passes and had 1,334 receiving yards, setting single-season school records. He had six 100-yard games in the 2021 season, which ranks second on Kentucky’s single-season list. He joins Randall Cobb as the only two receivers in school history to have 12 or more receptions in multiple games during their career and is the sixth player in SEC history to catch at least 100 passes in a season.
A former four-star recruit in the class of 2019, Robinson ranked as the No. 12 receiver and No. 54 player according to On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average. He chose to attend Nebraska over offers from big-time schools such as Alabama, Michigan and Ohio State. Robinson’s playmaking ability was still on display in Lincoln as he ended his two-year career with 91 catches for 914 yards and three touchdowns. He was also utilized as a running back, totaling 580 yards rushing and four touchdowns.
On the other hand, Cor’Dale Flott started alongside No. 3 overall selection Derek Stingley Jr. all year for LSU, and made quite an impact for them the last two seasons.
In his last two seasons at LSU, Flott totaled 83 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and an interception across 21 games during that time. His best year in Baton Rouge came in 2020 when he had 40 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss and, although the numbers dipped in 2021, he still proved to be an impact cornerback.
Out of high school, Flott was a three-star recruit and the No. 26 prospect in the state of Alabama from the Class of 2019, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
