Report: Beavers set to play BYU at Allegiant Stadium in 2028

Viva Las Vegas!
The Oregon State Beavers are headed to Las Vegas in 2028. On Tuesday afternoon, On3’s Brett McMurphy reported that the Beavers will face the BYU Cougars in 2028 at Allegiant Stadium for a regular season matchup.
It is one of two scheduled matchups for what will be a continuation of the Vegas Kickoff Classic that began last season with USC and LSU matcup at Allegiant Stadium.
Arkansas and Texas Tech are also expected to take part in the Vegas Kickoff Classic in the 2030.
Notably, the Beavers and Cougras matchup comes less than a month after it was reported by FBS Schedules that a previously scheduled home-and-home series with BYU was having the second-leg, a matchup at Reser Stadium cancelled.
While not confirmed nor reported by McMurphy, it appears likely that the Cougars and Beavers will meet at Allegiant Stadium in 2028 on September 2.
According to the FBS Schedules report in August, the Beavers previously scheduled home game against Idaho on September 2 was moved to September 9, leaving the first week of the 2028 season open.
Oregon State and BYU have met 11 times preivously with their last matchup coming in 2011 in Provo, a 42-24 win for the Beavers. Oregon State has won six of five matchups all-time.
