Pittsburgh Steelers vs Minnesota Vikings Wednesday injury report

Ahead of their Thursday night game with the Minnesota Vikings this week, the Pittsburgh Steelers have their final injury report available from Wednesday’s practice. Joe Haden and Robert Spillane were among the players still held out from practice on Wednesday, as the Steelers have ruled everybody who did not practice on Wednesday as out for Thursday’s game.
Steelers vs Vikings injury report
Did Not Practice – Steelers: CB Joe Haden(Foot/OUT), LB Robert Spillane(Knee/OUT), OL B.J. Finney(Back/OUT), DE Isaiah Buggs(Ankle/OUT)
Joe Haden was eyeing a possible return this week after missing the last two games, but missed the entire week’s practices with his knee injury. It appears now that Haden will miss another week as he recovers, being ruled out on the official Steelers’ report Wednesday.
Spillane was in the same position after suffering a knee sprain against the Bengals. Joining them on the injury report is Finney and Buggs, both of which were also unavailable for practice all week long.
With the short week and all four players being unavailable for practice, the Steelers have ruled all four of them out for their game against the Vikings.
Full Participation – Steelers: QB Ben Roethlisberger(Pec/Shoulder), WR Chase Claypool(Toe), OL Trai Turner(Coaches Decision), DT Cameron Heyward(Coaches Decision)
Roethlisberger was a full participant in practice, seemingly doing better with his persistent throwing arm injury that has followed him most of the season. Barring anything shocking, the Steelers fully expect their veteran quarterback to be ready on Thursday after practicing all week.

The toe injury Claypool suffered this year was initially something the Steelers were afraid could end his season, but he continues to recover and was a full participant in practice Tuesday and Wednesday.
Head coach Mike Tomlin said when Claypool first returned to practice weeks ago that they were excited to see how much progress he would be able to make. The Steelers are already down star receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster for the season, so Claypool’s return will be a great boost to their receiving unit.
Turner and Heyward were both listed as out on Monday due to coaches decision, and both were back in full on Tuesday and Wednesday.
OUT – Vikings: T Christian Darrisaw(Ankle), WR Adam Thielen(Ankle)
QUESTIONABLE – Vikings: S Camryn Bynum(Ankle), RB Dalvin Cook(Questionable), LB Blake Lynch(Hip)
The Vikings will enter Thursday’s game unsure about the status of running back Dalvin Cook. After suffering a dislocated shoulder just two weeks ago, Cook’s recovery has impressed the Vikings and Cook himself feels ready to play on Thursday. As of now, Cook will be a game-time decision.
Cornerback Patrick Peterson was activated by the Vikings from the COVID-19 list and should help shore up their defense, while receiver Adam Thielen is expected to be out with his high ankle sprain.
