Report: Timeline on Aaron Rodgers decision revealed

Aaron Rodgers‘ season ended early, when the top-seeded Green Bay Packers lost 13-10 to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs, and now Rodgers is testing the water.
It remains a mystery whether the back-to-back MVP winner — who’s won four in his career and appears to still be in his prime — will return to Green Bay and finish his career with the Packers. However, at least for the time being, the Packers seem to expect an answer relatively soon, according to a report from Michael Silver.
“Today Packers LT David Bakhtiari is getting married in California. Aaron Rodgers is set to officiate it. Matt LaFleur will be there. Rodgers is likely to tell the Packers what he wants to do by Tuesday afternoon,” Silver said. “Timing is kinda wild.”
Rodgers, 38, infamously staged a holdout from Green Bay Packers training camp last offseason — just one year after winning the MVP award — because he did not get the extension or trade he asked for, per ESPN. Now, Rodgers, who won another MVP award despite Green Bay’s early playoff departure, is coming off back-to-back MVP awards, and his future with the Packers seems as clear as mud.
Packers general manager reveals latest on Aaron Rodgers timeline, potential trade
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said that Green Bay is not receiving all that many offers for the four-time MVP at the moment.
“Not at all,” Gutekunst said, via ESPN, when asked if he’s fielding tons of calls about Rogers’ trade availability. “Not at all. Not a single person (is asking).”

But Gutekunst added that he expects Rodgers to inform the Packers in the coming days or weeks about his decision. As for exactly how soon? That remains to be seen.
“I would hope so, yeah,” Gutekunst said, when asked if Rodgers will give the Packers a decision on his future before free agency opens on March 16. “That’s obviously the start of the new league year. There’s a lot of decisions that have to be made before that. So that would be helpful. I would think we would know something before then.”
Gutekunst said that at least for the time being, the Packers are preparing for all options, so the organization is fit to proceed with or without Rodgers.
“It’s really no different than every year, because as you get into this time there’s just a lot of unknowns,” Gutekunst said, when asked if the Packers are preparing for life without Rodgers. “You always have free agents you’re trying to bring back. You don’t know how that’s going to go. You gotta kind of have Plan B, Plan C and those things. It’s really no different. [It] garners a lot of attention because of the player and his status, but really no different.”
